Mr. Runzel is the CEO of Lake Cable, LLC (Lake). Lake is a $170mm+ a year manufacturing business with 5 plants in Illinois & Indiana. Lake specializes in production of copper wire and cable for a wide array of applications. Since its founding in 1995, Lake has significantly grown its revenues, profits and market share in the wire and cable industry.
As a fourth generation wire & cable entrepreneur, Mr. Runzel brings over 30 years of manufacturing startups, ongoing operations management and business growth experience. In addition, Mr. Runzel has extensive experience with electronic controller and wire harness development, as well as product assembly, cellular manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
Involved in many philanthropic causes, Mr. Runzel is an active supporter of Boys Hope Girls Hope, being nominated for the 2012 Leadership Award. Other charitable works include co-sponsoring an annual fundraising event benefitting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Mr. Runzel attended the University Of Illinois, focusing on agriculture and economics. An avid hunter, fisherman and competitive shooter, he is also an accomplished private pilot. Mr. Runzel has 6 children and resides in Evanston, Illinois.
